Step by step
Healing timeline
Day 1
- Some tenderness and mild swelling is normal
- Do not remove or fiddle with the jewellery
- Sleep on a clean pillowcase
Week 1
- Spray with NeilMed Fine Mist twice a day and pat dry with clean gauze
- Keep foundation, concealer, serums and toners off the piercing
- Blow your nose gently, one side at a time
- No pools, hot tubs or sea
Weeks 2–8
- Swelling settles and the stud sits flatter to the skin
- Be careful with glasses, face masks and drying your face
- Continue saline once a day; skip if it's calm
Months 3–6
- Heals from the outside in — still fragile internally
- You can swap to a small implant-grade titanium or gold stud once fully settled
After healing
- Full internal healing takes 4–6 months
- Rings can be added once fully healed, not before

- No foundation, concealer or skincare on the piercing
- Blow your nose gently. Pinch the other side
- Careful with glasses and face masks — keep the frames and mask edges clean
- Pat dry with clean gauze after washing your face
- Never change to a ring until the piercing is fully healed
